How to support

No good deed is a small deed.

We welcome donations of any size. Our fundraising and administrative costs are minimal and already met by support from our trustees. All donations received will therefore go entirely to support the project in Kenya. If you would like to discuss becoming a regular supporter or funding a particular initiative, please get in touch with any of the contacts shown on the Contact Us page. For information about sponsoring a student please also contact us. You can make donations directly to any of the Vanessa Grant Trust projects in various ways – see the details below for donating in the UK, Australia, USA, Kenya and other countries.

Fundraising and Sponsorship

Why not encourage your friends to donate to the Vanessa Grant Trust too? Perhaps you are planning a sponsored activity (running a marathon for example) or holding a party and would like your friends to make a charitable donation rather than bringing a present. Fundraising and sponsorship in support of the Trusts is really easy using the UK-based MyDonate website or its equivalent in the USA, FirstGiving. In a few minutes you can set up your own, personal fundraising page where you friends can donate or support you in a sponsored activity. To see how easy this is, follow one of the following links: https://mydonate.bt.com

Tax-efficient Giving

If you are a taxpayer in the UK, Australia or the USA you can give even more without it costing you anything by giving in a tax-efficient way. Donations to support the Vanessa Grant Trust are recognised as charitable and tax deductible in all three countries. In the UK, the Gift Aid scheme means that for every pound you give, we recover an extra 25 pence from the tax authorities, making your donation go even further. This means that £100 can be turned into £125 at no extra cost to you. If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can claim a further tax rebate (at least £25 and up to £37.50) for yourself through your tax return. Click here to down load a Gift Aid Form. Gift Aid form, Nov 2013 In Australia and the USA you can claim a tax rebate on any donations you make to the Vanessa Grant Trust. This means that you can afford to give more knowing that you will get some of it back from the tax authorities. Full guidance is provided below on how to give in a tax-efficient way in each country.
