Closing Assembly
Our final assembly for the term turned out to be an incredibly moving afternoon, showing a side of our school that goes way beyond regular classroom routine. As Grade 9 and Form 4 prepare to turn the page after their final exams, they took the stage to pull off a heartfelt surprise for the class teachers who have walked beside them for the past three years. School gets busy, but in that moment, everything slowed down as students gave gifts, shared laughs, and said thank you for more than just lesson plans. When you live and learn together for years, teachers naturally step into the role of second parents, offering guidance, patience, and a steady presence when home feels far away. Watching the students honor that bond proved that the connection here is built on real trust, mutual respect, and genuine care.
The afternoon also gave us a chance to applaud some brilliant minds who put our school on the map during the recent Science Congress. Our principal stepped up to recognize the students who brought their absolute best to the competition, showcasing creative projects and sharp problem-solving skills. Seeing their innovative ideas get celebrated in front of the whole school was a huge boost, not just for them, but for everyone sitting in the audience. It was a proud moment that captured what we try to cultivate every day, an environment where curiosity is fed and hard work gets its moment in the spotlight. Balancing that academic drive with heartfelt gratitude showed exactly who we are as a community.
Closing out the term on such a high note left everyone feeling deeply connected as we packed up for the holidays. It was a clear reminder that education at our school is never just about grades or official titles but building a supportive family where people truly see and uplift each other. Teachers walked away feeling appreciated for the quiet sacrifices they make, and students left knowing their efforts, both in innovation and in character, are recognized. As we step into the break, we carry the warmth of that assembly with us, proud of how far we have come together. It was the perfect way to wrap up the year, leaving us grounded, grateful, and ready for whatever comes next.
Long live VGGS!
